Titus Project
June 27-September 10, 2010
What is Titus?
Titus Project is a 3-month program designed to develop SBS graduates in communication skills and equip them for teaching and preaching on the mission field.
Vision
We are dedicated to training church leaders throughout the world in the Word of God. To accomplish this, we develop School of Biblical Studies graduates in teaching and preaching, and mobilize them where Bible teaching is greatly needed.
The Program
The training Titus offers in these areas consists of passing on the tools of the Inductive Method, teaching inductively through a variety of books, Bible overview, and a variety of Biblical topics.
The Titus Project program is 12 weeks long, and consists of:
-3 weeks of Training & Preparation
-8 weeks of Outreach
-1 week of Debriefing
During the Training and Preparation Phase, participants receive training on how to put together and present a lecture, with opportunities to practice and receive feedback. Other topics include learning styles, how to illustrate effectively, and teaching cross-culturally. The classes will be held at YWAM’s training center in Battambang. Classes are bi-lingual in English & Khmer. Students may do their teaching in either language.
Topics covered:
- How to prepare a lecture
- Presenting your lecture (verbal & non-verbal communication)
- Illustrating your lecture
- Learning Styles
- How to teach the Inductive Method
- Illustrating the Inductive Method
- Inductive Method teaching practical
- Sermon/Bible Study practical
- Teaching through a translator
- Team Dynamics
- Selected readings and discussions
During the Outreach Phase, teams consisting of 3-4 people are sent out to teach and preach, training up church leaders around the world in God's Word. Teaching usually consists of passing on the tools of the Inductive Method and teaching through a variety of books of the Bible. Other speaking opportunities may include teaching Biblical topics or preaching. Outreach locations are focused within South-East Asia.
What will you gain from Titus?
After completing the Titus program, participants will have grown in their confidence and ability to communicate more effectively through teaching and preaching. You will know how putt a teaching together, how to illustrate and present it, and see your own teaching style develop.
God may also likely clarify during this time whether you have a long-term calling to teaching and preaching His Word! You will bless church leaders around the world who have limited opportunities to get Bible training. You will also be blessed and challenged meeting and fellowshipping with believers from other cultures and areas of the world.
Who can attend?
Any SBS graduate from around the world may join us! If you have a heart to teach the Bible, but feel you could use some extra training and equipping in how to go about it, or just aren't quite ready to venture out on your own yet then Titus would be great for you!
Prerequisites: CCM 311, 312, 313 (School of Biblical Studies)
Note: You will need to be able to use either English or Khmer

DTS Equip
August 30-October 15, 2010
Mission and Vision
To equip and empower DTS staff and leaders. To provide a resource-rich environment where DTS staff and leaders are equipped in character, skills and Spirit, so that DTS students and programs worldwide may benefit and develop according to their individual and corporate callings.
“The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:
What Others Are Saying...
“I often say that our DTS leaders and staff are the most “important” people in YWAM, because the DTS is the doorway to the mission. “As the DTS goes, so goes the mission” - people are either ignited with a passion for God and His world and want to get on board, or they look elsewhere. So our DTS leaders/staff need to have infectious faith, irreproachable character and be well equipped! I encourage all DTS leaders and staff to pray about attending DTS Equip. I know Jeremy West to be an outstanding DTS leader/trainer. Come learn from them and other excellent leaders in the field of DTS!”
- Darlene Cunningham, Co-Founder, YWAM
“DTS Equip is an engaging training opportunity for DTS leaders and staff. I highly recommend both the leadership of DTS Equip as well as the program they have designed.”
- Maureen Menard, Director of the International DTS Center and VP of the University of the Nations
DTS Equip is not only for new staff. Many of these topics can be extended, as well as new ones added dependent upon the experiential demographic of the participants. We want school leaders and even program directors! We have additional material for these people. Come and learn, grow, fellowship, and relax!
